Fin Spotter is a database of shark encounters that Cape Radd (Simonstown-based conservation institution) uses to estimate and monitor the size of the population for these species.
You can help by submitting your photographs of sharks using the encounter submission form.
Step 1: take a photo. Top down photos are best! Try to fill the frame with as much detail of the pattern as possible. Get as close as you can BUT without harassing the animal .\
Step 2: Use the form at this link to submit your photo/s: https://fin.caperadd.com/submit.jsp
Step 3: Here is the fun part — get notified!
Cape Radd will let you know when your shark is spotted again with an automated email! Check in to keep up to date on the happenings of your shark!
